Lavender is native to the Old World and is found from Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, acrossEurope, to northern and eastern Africa, the Mediterranean, southwest Asia to southeast India. Lavender was known to the ancient Greeks, Dioscorides in his famous book “De Materia Medica” says …consumption of lavender helps to relieve indigestion, headaches and irritation of the throat.

Moreover, lavender is widely used in dermatology, because it has antibacterial properties, which prevent infection of wounds. The breathing of lavender decoction’s steam can make you feel relaxed and overpass insomnia. At last, bunches of this herb are used to repel insects naturally.
To make a decoction of lavender, put a teaspoon of lavender flowers into boiled water for 10 minutes.
