Linden Tisane (Tilia europaea)

Tisane is the leaves from linden tree. In ancient Greece it was a common belief that it could cure snake bites (snakes were afraid of being close even at tree’s shadow). Also according to the myth, whoever was sleeping under the tree, was immediately teleported to fairies world.

Nowadays, surveys have proved that the beverage of this great herb has many benefits. It is mainly used as a diuretic, mild antiseptic, expectorant, it calms nerves and lowers high blood pressure as well. It also strengthens the immune system and helps prevent heart disease. Finally, a cup of tisane beverage will help you to sleep well.

Tisane is not used in cooking. The tisane tea is very popular in France and it is a common daily drink.
