Yellow Brain (Tremella mesenterica)

Tremella mesenterica, the Yellow Brain Fungus, is mainly seen in winter, when it appears on fallen branches of deciduous trees. This attractive jelly fungus is found throughout Europe, however, it has been recorded in temperate regions of Asia, Australia and both North and South America. You need wet weather to find this fungus easily.

According to scientific studies the Yellow Brain mushrooms help against depression, stomach bacteria and enterobacteria, in which the ulcer appearance is attributed, gastritis and other related disorders. Moreover, these mushrooms reduce blood cholesterol, hypoglycemic and antitumor activity and enhance the immune system in animals.
